In the part 1 of the second role-play of Volume 1 Michaela clarifies her hypotheses about the relationships between these emotions. On the basis of Michaela's conceptualisation that sadness and the inability of the client to tolerate it is a controlling variable for the self-harm. Michaela decides to implement exposure as a solution to treat the difficulties the client experiences in tolerating sadness.
